I am not your average professor and pastor. I am a radical scholar, a passionate preacher, and a fierce advocate for those marginalized by traditional religion. My groundbreaking research blends Queer of Color Biblical Criticism, Black Studies, and Theopoetics, offering a fresh, liberating perspective on faith and spirituality.

At the General Theological Seminary and Siloam Presbyterian Church, I challenge norms and inspire my students and congregation to imagine a world free from the constraints of imperial Christianity. My work is a bold invitation to embrace our authentic selves, celebrate our unique identities, and create a future where everyone can flourish.

When I am not busy decolonizing theology or preaching justice, you might find me napping, spending time with my beloved spouse Carlos, or being the coolest uncle to Jayden, Nia, and Devin. But do not be fooled by my playful side—I am always plotting with my comrades to dismantle oppressive systems and dream a more inclusive, equitable world into existence.
